Role:Software Engineer - Web Applications using Java, JSP/Servlet, XML, JDBC, JNI or similar technology, Javascript and related technologies
Location: Princeton, NJ
Number of openings: 3
Experience: 3-5 years
Summary: The Software Engineer will be responsible for supporting the existing products/applications as well as develop new applications and technologies.
The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organizational abilities. The candidate should be able to work in fast and varied environments.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Includes the following, while other duties may be assigned as required:
- The candidate should have good analytical skills and should also be able to lead product/project components
- The candidate should be able to work with minimal directions to maintain and enhance existing products/applications with internal/external systems integrated
- This position will focus on design solutions at systems and program level and identify simple & complex impacts of proposed changes on products/Applications
- Analyze proposed changes at a system/architectural level and recommend designs and solutions that minimize impact to interfacing systems while maximizing code re-usability and maintaining business value
- Create and execute unit, system, and integration tests and validate test results independently
- Prepare effective written communication to document project status, issues, and requirements and report status to project/product lead
- Code structured program changes to new or existing programs using multiple programming languages/platforms and overall product viability
- Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with client best practices
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the candidate should be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education and/or experience:
- Bachelors or equivalent degree in Computer Science
- 3-5 years of previous experience as software engineer/developer
- Must possess superior skills in JAVA and related concepts/technologies
- Must possess superior skills in JSP/Servlet
- Must possess superior skills in XML
- Must possess superior skills in JDBC
- Must possess superior skills in Object Oriented Methodologies
- Working knowledge in using SQL, JNI, Javascript and related technologies
- Working knowledge of windows environment
- Experience in structured environment with increasing level of complexity and responsibility
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communications skills

- Successful delivery of assigned application development tasks and projects and problem solving
- Effective coordination of project v. task needs v. operational requirements with teammates and the organization
- Positive contributions to the organization beyond the scope of normal responsibilities

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technology periodicals, professional journals or technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning/Analytical Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
