Role:Network Engineer

Location: Princeton, NJ and Carrollton (Dallas), TX

Number of openings: 1 per location

Experience: 3-8 years

Summary: The Network Engineer will be responsible for helping maintain and modify the current network infrastructure for best network performance.

The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organizational abilities. The candidate should be able to work in fast and varied environments.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

Includes the following, while other duties may be assigned as required:

  • Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks
  • Install, configure, maintain network services, equipment and devices
  • Supports administration of servers and server clusters
  • Manages all system back-up and restore protocol
  • Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems
  • Documents network problems and resolution for future reference
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of networking essentials
  • Oversee software and network security
  • Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience needed

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the candidate should be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education and/or experience:

  • 3-8 years of previous experience as Network Engineer
  • MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CNE or graduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS
  • Must possess superior knowledge and skills of network design, hardware and software interactions
  • Excellent knowledge of windows environment and Cisco Systems
  • Experience in structured environment with increasing level of complexity and responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Effective coordination of project v. task needs v. operational requirements with teammates and the organization
  • Positive contributions to the organization beyond the scope of normal responsibilities

Language Skills: 
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technology periodicals, professional journals or technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning/Analytical Ability: 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
