Executive Team

Kevin Brown (President & CEO)

Kevin is responsible for the strategy, go-to-market execution and business operations for IPcelerate. Kevin has 25+ years experience in executive and management positions in the voice and data communications market, and has worked for convergence pioneers such as ROLM, VMX and IBM. Kevin was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Selsius Systems when Selsius was acquired by Cisco Systems in 1998. Kevin headed up the market development organization at Cisco Systems in then Enterprise Voice Video Business Unit from 1998-2002 .

Kevin is the author of two books: IP Telephony Unveiled (published by Cisco Press in January 2004), and A Friendly Guide to LANs, WANs and Internetworking (published by Intecom in 1994). Kevin was recently mentioned in the December 19th issue of BusinessWeek as one of the Best Managers to watch for in 2006. He serves as an advisor on the board of directors for the Ivan and Sam Foundation, and is co-founder of the First Things Foundation, both non-profit organizations focusing on pediatric cancer and scholarships for disadvantaged youth, respectively.

Alok Jain (Chief Technology & Operations Officer)

Alok is responsible for technology, research and development of IPcelerate's products and delivering state of the art technology and solutions to our clients. Alok has 19+ years experience in software development, and has held various positions. His vision, understanding of unifed communication and business applications has helped IPcelerate to lead and create some of the most innovative UC business communications applications in the industry. Under his leadership IPcelerate, Netcom Systems, Birlasoft, Network Programs, and Business India Group has built products and solutions for VOIP, Network Management, CRM, Internet/Intranet portals, Client-Server applications and multimedia applications.

Alok Jain led the product development and engineering within IPcelerate, created as a result of the IPcelerate Acquisition of the Netcom systems VoIP application development group.

John D. Keel, CPA (Chief Financial Officer)

John is responsible for all the financial oversight and controllership functions of IPcelerate. John has over 18 years of financial, marketing, and operational experience in diverse industries. John worked as a financial auditor for Ernst & Young, led implementation teams as a project manager for Epic Data, managed business product development for Energy Future Holdings, and was most recently the CFO for a sports management group. John’s entrepreneurial, financial, and operational acumen is an ideal match for IPcelerate’s near- and long-term growth strategy.

John holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA with Distinction in Economics from Hendrix College in Conway, AR.

Tom Hewett (SVP, Sales)

Tom is responsible for all sales activities for IPcelerate. Tom has more than 23 years of sales and management experience in the information technology business, including 15 years of experience recruiting, building and managing channel partners. He has an outstanding record recruiting, training and motivating employees to achieve financial targets. Tom entered the convergence marketplace as Area Director for Sales for Selsius Systems, a start-up organization that was acquired by Cisco Systems in late 1998. At Selsius Systems, Tom was responsible for channel and business development. After the acquisition by Cisco Systems, Tom successfully led channel initiatives for key national and global partners, where he was 2003 U.S. Channel Manager of the Year for Cisco Systems.

Samit Paul (VP, IP Telephony Applications Platform)

Samit is responsible for creating an application platform and products (such as IPsession) based on this platform (also called NIPA Framework) for companies adopting unified communications. Samit has 15 years of experience in creating and developing software products based on IP Telephony and VoIP technologies. He has been part of the core team and leading contributor before IPcelerate acquisition of Netcom Systems VoIP application development group. Prior to joining Netcom Systems, Samit has worked as a senior software engineer and project leader for Lucent Technologies and L&T Infotech developing IP-PBX (Softswitch) products and related protocol stacks.

Anshul Shelley (VP, Multimedia & VoIP Recording)

Anshul is responsible for design, development, strategize roadmaps, identifying gaps for IPstudio, IPmonitor, IPfusion products and sharing IPcelerate's OEM development responsibilities. Anshul has more than 13 years of experience in software development, modeling and product management & delivery. While working at Netcom Systems, Anshul contributed to the creation and launch of NIPA framework.

Amit Rastogi (VP, Web Services and Mobility Apps)

Amit Rastogi is responsible for design, development and managing web services and mobility applications for various platforms. Amit has more than 14 years of experience in design and developing VoIP and IP telephony products. Amit has been part of IPcelerate core team and leader before IPcelerate's acquisition of Netcom systems VoIP division. Prior to joining Netcom systems, Amit was working as a design consultant at Telcordia Technologies working on their IGCS product line and L&T Infotech as a senior software Engineer.

David Stixrood (VP, Customer Loyalty)

David is responsible for developing and implementing customer programs designed to strengthen the direct relationship IPcelerate has with its customers. David has 23+ years of experience in the data communications industry. He has held various executive positions for sales and operations during his career, and prior to joining IPcelerate, ran a successful executive consulting business focusing on the then-emerging wireless market. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Sales for MobileStar Networks, where he oversaw all direct and channel-based sales engagements. He has successful experiences with both established companies (MCI, VMX and NCR) as well as start-up organizations (MobileStar Networks).

While serving in the Army David received the Bronze Star awarded for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces in Vietnam and Army commendations twice for meritorious achievement in the Republic of Vietnam.

Jeff Johnson (VP, Training and Documentation)

Jeff is responsible for IPcelerate product documentation, product video tutorial, and learning course content. Jeff has 23+ years of training and documentation experience in the information technology, data communications, and healthcare industries. While working with national/international corporate learning and documentation, Jeff has created numerous online e-Learning content programs, employee certification programs, and product documentation content.
