Cisco Cius Applications
Using the embedded Web 2.0 services module, IPsession Mobile extends a series of productivity tools and business-impacting applications to the Cisco Cius tablet. These Android-based applications are designed to enhance the UC experience for tablet users – at the desk or on-the-go.
Delivery drivers or school bus operators will find the Quick Alert application (with built-in GPS notification) ideal for those unexpected scenarios that occur on the road. Virtually any remote business person will find the Call-and-Record application to be a life-saver when they need to record conversations away from the office while in 3G or 4G mode.
Insurance adjusters will find the Streamz application to be ideal for capturing (and sharing) information during those on-site claims meetings and interviews, while post-op patients use the same application with their doctors to stay on top of their rehab.
Social workers will find the Quick Alert and Conferencing functions highly impactful as they go from appointment to appointment.
IPsession Mobile applications are categorized in the following modules; Standard, Additional and Stand-Alone. These modules are web 2.0 “extensions” of IPsession, measurably increasing the ROI of this software solution beyond the desktop.

Friends
This application allows Cius users to create a group of their ‘peers or friends’ and track their status and their location at any time. Some companies also use this to track the status of facilities (i.e., conference rooms).
Groups
This application allows a Cius user to create his/her own groups that he/she can use for messaging, alerts, paging, dial-out, Streamz, and conferencing applications. A Cius user can create a personal group, which can contain individual contacts, corporate groups contained in the Integrated Directory. For example, a teacher can create a personal group, only used by him/her, that contains the parents of the 5th period class. A hospital administrator can create a personal group that contains the 6 OB-GYN doctors who use their clinic. A sales manager can create a personal group that contains the 17 sales reps under her.
Mass Alert
This application allows Cius users to initiate a multi-faceted response to various scenarios with the touch of a button. Mass Alert allows a customer to use paging, dial-out, pre-programmed conferencing and email alerts all within one end user experience. For example, if a chemical spill is detected, a Cius user can touch a selection which automatically sends a page/alert to the security desk, automatically conference in first responders for a discussion, send email updates to a distribution list and place a dial-out series of calls to select community individuals. This application allows an enterprise to prepare a one-touch multi-response for various scenarios they plan for.
PPC /Pre-Programmed Conferencing
This application provides ‘push conferencing’ functionality, where a Cius user can launch a conference call that will include only the specific people associated with the ‘group’ he or she enters for the conference. IPsession uses Call Manager resources to initiate a conference that calls individuals and pulls them into a conference call. For example, a principal can click an icon and launch a conference call with the 7th grade math teachers. A hospital administrator can click an icon and launch a conference call with the 5 nurses who work the night shift. A sales manager can click an icon and launch a conference call with the 8 reps under her, or only the 4 senior reps.
IPsession Mobile Additional Modules
Call and Record
This application allows Cius users to record calls initiated by them while in 3G or 4G mode. This is useful when calls are being made ‘off-net’. Recorded conversations are stored back at the U.C. site or off-site using U.C. storage resources. The Cius user can record conversations and access recorded conversations.
Locator
This application allows a Cius user to view the location of their 'friends', as well as update their own location and status. For example, when a 'Quick Alert' is generated, the emergency team can quickly view on a map the nearest team member to where the alert was generated and coordinate accordingly.
Quick Alert
This application allows a Cius user to generate an alert (send an alert) to other Cius users or to other IP Phone users. By clicking a selection, an alert – complete with that user’s contact details and their GPS location – is sent to other users. This can be used both for tracking purposes as well as emergency response. For example, a social worker or a customer technician goes from appointment to appointment, ‘clocking in’ at each one which sends an alert containing their location. However, a teacher on campus may be witnessing an emergency situation, and can launch an alert – with their location – to first responders and security on the campus.
Streamz
This application gives Cius users a new, more social means of sharing multi-media information with a specified community of users, and includes a back-end social site that enables the community to socialize among themselves using multi-media information as well. A user can create a ‘Stream’ that can include text, videos (recorded on the Cius or accessed from servers), audio information (recorded phone conversations, new audio recordings), and images. This multi-media stream is shared with a targeted community determined by the user. For example, a teacher creates a stream which contains visual lesson plans explained to his 8th period Geometry parents. A school nurse creates a stream which contains visual education and discussion for lice outbreaks for parents with 2nd grade students affected by the outbreak. An insurance agent walks into a house where a flood claim is being investigated, and creates a stream with videos of the house, a video interview of the homeowner, and images taken during the trip, and shares that with back-office personnel.
Stand-alone Application
Notes
This application allows Cius users to use multi-media tools as they ‘take notes’ . For example, beyond using a text keyboard to create and save notes, this application allows Cius users to record voice notes, record video notes, attach images to their notes. With this application, the concept of taking notes moves beyond what is typed, and now includes what is typed, recorded (audio or video), and what images are captured. Any and all functions can be included in a single note.
