A community college wants to notify its students when a class is cancelled, rescheduled or relocated before they arrive on campus by sending the notification to their home and cell phone.  The college wants to enable all 300 professors to have access to the application for student notification as well.

Solving this challenge will benefit the college in the following ways:

Solution

The focus of this solution is a base Dial Out application that is flexible, and accessible, where multiple users create and maintain their groups and manually initiate call outs to their targeted audience.  That base application can be leveraged to automatically initiate call outs based on changes in the schedule.

  • Multiple users access the Dial Out application, creating their own groups, maintaining the contact no.’s within their groups, and initiating the Dial Out events as needed.
  • Initiate Dial Out from web based GUI, IP phone, or off-network phone allowing users to broadcast message to recipients any time, from anywhere
  • IPfusion based routine runs in the background automatically updating existing Dial Out Groups to the latest information available
  • Broadcast to off-network phones, on-network phones, emails to desktops, or text messages to cell phones, all through a single, intuitive, three step web based GUI
  • Based on changes in schedules, query student data bases to call out to students enrolled in a certain class; receive acknowledgements from recipients
  • After listening to a message broadcast through the Dial Out application, allow recipients to connect to an internal extension to discuss new schedules
